How was the chop on Euridyce? Should we keep Eu days as chop on Eu days?

People will have varying opinions, my opinion is without EU chop days, EU probably would hardly be run at all by groups. I've already seen a number of EU chop days come and go and no one running EU.

It has to be a large and fairly keen group to run Euridyce - even on a chop day. When I was checking my xp counters for the period we ran Euridyce, it was less xp than lyme chop and it felt a bit strangled by the politics of large groups and mobility problems mainly caused by no gate/no track rooms, rooms that if you go the wrong way in you'd poof your chopper and currents. How I see Euridyce at the moment is not that far different from how I see Herbalist Isle. Mostly there isn't much incentive to go there except on special occasions or just to get a piece of eq you need. It doesn't mean the area is bad, it's more "niche." There is far easier xp than EU, and therefore I think EU is already more of and EQ area than it is an xp area.

There is one other important thing working against EU, and that is gems. There is not much incentive for a large group of people to use a large amount of resource to drag down 1 mob for the possibility of 1 gem shared among many... when the same group (or smaller) could run 100 smaller mobs easier and get 100 more chances at gems. You can't blame EU for that, but it definitely works against it.

As I was leading EU, I'll say that:
- EU needs large groups to keep exp under the exp cap. For medium groups it's harder, than it should be, and exp is average.

- for a medium groups, which most groups are, to get good exp, nocap needs to be on

- unlike Lyme, which is available all the time, EU days happen every 5-6 days - for me, those days are mostly work. Then there are days right after crashes (no specs) or without people online. This time, it was the weekend, we had specs and we had a large group going, so I led there

- with scimitar pop rates nerfed, it's hard enough to have enough choppers for a regular chop group. Doing chop areas w/o getting replacement choppers will mean that we run out of choppers much sooner, which lowers exp/hr, because we have to do all the spec mobs - including chop ones - rather than exp mobs

Without the chop extra, it'll be virtually pointless to do EU for exp - and only groups of 13+ will be able to do it more or less efficiently, even if for a limited time.

Of course, you can say that EU is an eq area, but some eq on big mobs, such as -0.2 +str +dex gauntlets with extremely low poprate on a 80-160mil mob or -0.5 +25hp neck on a 90mil mob is junk. Some eq is great, though.

So, if it *is* an EQ area, then chop definitely helps there.

As for gems - yeah, it seems mob size is irrelevant there. Also, as gems/gold/eq falls to AH, it's a hassle to get it with a spec. Without choppers, even if 9x40s want to kill mobs for gems, they wouldn't come here unless it was obvious they have equal chances to pop gems for the time/effort invested as elsewhere (ie higher gempop chance for big mobs).

I suspect that these 200m mobs are still 41 level. Maybe it should be upped to 43 unless they start breaking webs and fleeing?
