heh.. maybe we should have bots/people play the game for us, and then email a report at the end of each day and tell us whether we had a good time or not.

most people would only do that if you wrote the scripts for them, explained in small words how to use them, and also had a link to the stats because god forbid anyone actually look something up. I suppose a nice option would be autotitling all the things you are too lazy to go find too...

In fairness, modern games have evolved somewhat. For instance, most come with a manual, Sloth has help, but you kind of have to know what you're looking for to use it. Many have built in tutorials that force you to practice using a feature the first time you come to it, along with an indepth explaination of how it works. And for those that still can't figure it out, you can buy a handy strategy guide for $19.95 that will literally walk you through the game. Not to mention the tons of handy tips and tricks you can download from places like gamefaqs to further aid your quest into the unknown.

With all the handy aids offered by other games, you want people to actually figure out how to play? That's for old-schoolers.

We have the 'advice' command, that's pretty user-friendly.

I am working on something that will let you talk to mobs a little bit more than you can now, and possibly ask them for help. Parsing general English is turning out to be kind of tricky, though, so it may not be in for a week or two.

Newbie asks Mob 'Could I kill you?'

Mob replies 'I hit pretty hard but I don't think I can penetrate your armor. If I do, you'll only be able to take a couple hits before I kill you. You would have to have sanctuary and a mid range cure spell to be safe. Also, I have no defense against magic, so any blasting spells you have would work well. Why do you ask?'

even tho i am guilty for harder to find item..

i just find it amusing when a 2x40 char has a book in their title that is an ez pop by a 20prime :twisted: *cough* sanc *cough* sickcow
